The Seasons of an Apple Tree

This week in room 6 we talked a lot about the seasons of an apple tree and how an apple tree grows. The kids each painted an apple tree with their table group and then added the correct leaves, apples, or blossoms to show the season of their apple tree. We finished painting this week and everyone will write a sentence about their apple tree next week!

We also made these cute apples and caterpillars for our bulletin board in the hallway. During centers this week, the kids listened to The Very Hungry Caterpillar. These are so cute!

During centers this week we had lots of apple themed activities, which included counting and writing numbers to 10, writing the beginning sounds in words, finding missing numbers on the apple trees (ex. 4, ___, 6), and reading color words and coloring apple trees the correct color. I have a picture of our glue dots this week and will show you how sparkly and fun this activity was, but don't have pics of the centers. Will make sure to include these next week.

Remember all those apples your kids brought to school? Well, this week we made apple sauce!!! It was so much fun! We cut the apples, put them in the crockpot, cooked them all day, and then we got to eat our very own kindergarten cooked apple sauce!

Yummy!!!

Thanks for taking a look at what was happening in our kindergarten room this week. Next week we will be practicing the letter M, we have a new sight word - and, will be doing a couple more apple projects, and finishing our apple centers. Have a great weekend!
